The Red star cordyline is a perennial evergreen. Cordylines in general, are not fussy plants and are easy to grow. If you choose to grow them in containers this means they will need watering regularly. While it is not a necessary to water them daily, potted plants should not go too long without water. Ideally, let the surface of the soil dry out before watering again, they thrive in moist soils but just don’t like being constantly wet. If you would rather grow your Cordyline in the ground, then they would usually require watering on a regular basis until they have fully established themselves. This is usually during the first growing season and then they will be okay when left to their own devices.
